SIMON Cowell has cancelled his 60th birthday party just days before it was due to happen in order to concentrate on his work commitments.
The X Factor star, who actually turned 60 earlier this month, was due to celebrate at a restaurant in Chelsea on Wednesday evening but has told everyone it is off.

A cancellation letter was sent to all his pals who were expected to attend the bash at La Famiglia
It read: “Dear all, I am so sorry but this dinner is cancelled/postponed.
“Scheduling conflicts unfortunately are prohibiting us from having this dinner at this time.
“We will keep you posted as to when it will be rescheduled for. Thank you for understanding, Lauren and Simon.”

His rep told the MailOnline: “The decision was made to postpone the dinner yesterday morning.
“Simon’s priority is his incredibly busy work schedule over the next month and this, of course, includes the current series of The X Factor as well as other TV and music projects.”
Simon and Lauren, 42, are expected to throw another party for their celeb pals in December instead. He already had a small dinner in Malibu on his actual birthday.
A source told the website: “Simon’s focus is solely on work for now. It’s no secret Simon is a workaholic and he always strives to improve everything he’s involved in.

“He also doesn’t want people hungover on Thursday and would rather the focus is purely on work – and of course the upcoming shows – rather than celebrating his 60th.”
On Saturday evening Simon Cowell admitted he hadn’t spent enough time with his acts on X Factor: Celebrity and he wasn’t happy with their song choices.
He had been flying back and forth to America for AGT and had missed out on some of the rehearsal process.
