THE bodies of a missing US couple were found buried on a beach just days after a mystery driver took their motor home into Mexico.
James Butler, 48, and wife Michelle, 46, had been travelling across the US when they were reported missing last month.
Their worried family hadn’t heard from the couple, of Romney, New Hampshire, for a week after they arrived in Padre Island, Texas, on October 15.
It was one of several stops the pair had planned to make on their cross-country camping trip.
But on October 27, police made the horrifying discovery of human remains at a beach on the island.
Days earlier between October 20 and 21, disturbing CCTV footage showed an unknown person driving the couple’s truck and RV trailer over the nearby Mexico border.
REMAINS CONFIRMED
On Saturday, cops confirmed the bodies found buried on the beach-side camp site belonged to the missing Butlers.
The couple, who have five grown children, took off on their once-in-a-lifetime excursion about a year-and-a-half ago.
They were touring the States and working odd jobs along the way, according to family.
James’ sister, Deborah Van Loon, told the local CBS affiliate in Boston: “They were very good at staying in touch with everybody and awesome at sharing their daily adventures.

Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office has yet to reveal details about how the Butlers died.
Murder cops are now searching for their truck and investigating their deaths as suspected homicides.
