EXCITING filly Quadrilateral edged a ding-dong battle in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Friday to remain unbeaten.
The bookies slashed her odds to 5-1 for next year’s 1000 Guineas following her gutsy defeat of Powerful Breeze in the big Group 1.

The daughter of super sire Frankel looked in trouble at the 3f pole as the field quickened.
But she rolled her sleeves up for jockey Jason Watson and, having squeezed through a tight gap up the far rail, she won going away to make it a perfect 3-3.
Winning trainer Roger Charlton said: “Three furlongs out I thought we were running well, we were coming off the bridle and that it wasn’t going to happen.
“But she kept responding and the gap up the rail was diminishing, but she fought like a good’un.
“She handled the track well, it was a great effort. It was a proper race today.”
Watson, in his first season as Charlton’s stable jockey, was over the moon with the result.
He grinned: “She was learning as the race progressed, and as we hit the rising ground she was always coming home the strongest.
“She is brave and gutsy. She can only improve and possibly get further.
“To have the opportunity to ride horses like this is amazing, I’m very grateful.”
