WEST HAM keeper Lukasz Fabianski has been ruled out until 2020 after undergoing hip surgery.

The Polish stopper damaged a hip muscle taking a goal kick during West Ham’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on September 28.

And the 34-year-old went under the knife this morning in London and will reportedly be out for three months.

West Ham co-owner David Gold tweeted to update fans on the popular keeper’s progress.

He said: “Just to update you all, the surgery on Lukasz Fabianski’s hip went as planned this morning in London.

“He will hopefully be discharged later today.

“Speedy recovery Lukasz.”

The East Londoners have had a solid start to the campaign and sit eighth in the Premier League.

They had lost just one in seven with Fabianski in goal but lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace last time out with Spanish stand in Roberto between the sticks.

Ex-Millwall man David Martin – son of Hammers legend Alvin – is the club’s number three and will sit on the bench at London Stadium while Fabianski is out.

Hammers fans had previously highlighted the ex-Arsenal keeper as key to any success the club might achieve this season.
