A SEX-starved man tried to have intercourse with the corpse of a nurse after throttling her in a jealous rage, a court heard.
Boh Soon Ho, 51, was said to have stripped 28-year-old Zhang Huaxiang naked after strangling her with a bath towel when she refused to sleep with him.
He was also furious after she told him she was seeing two other men.
He then bungled his bid to have sex with her corpse after failing to get aroused and botched an attempt to drown himself in a river because the water was “too smelly” to jump into, he told his murder trial in Singapore.
Boh said he’d only ever had two short relationships and visited prostitutes.
He fell in love with Zhang when they worked at a hotel staff cafeteria while she was studying to be a nurse.
He called her Princess Xiang Xiang and she nicknamed him God of Food, because he loved eating.
They went out for meals together and Boh said he even advised her on what underwear to buy.
But she never returned his feelings and they were never intimate.
Boh felt Zhang was “cheating on him” when he started spying on her and saw her leaving her flat with another man in March 2016, the court heard.
‘I ONLY WANTED TO SCARE HER’
He invited Zhang to his home for lunch and tried in vain twice to have sex with her.
“I told her Xiang, I want to have sex with you,” said Boh.
“She said – crazy, get lost. I was very angry.”
He pushed her on the bed and kissed her and touched her. But she warned him she would bite off his tongue if he persisted.
When Zhang told him she was also still intimate with an ex-boyfriend – and Boh “snapped.”
“I did so many things for her, I didn’t expect her to treat me this way,” he told the court.
“For many years, I bought her things and gave her money to gamble. Two men suddenly came into the picture and at that moment, I could not accept it.”
He claimed he meant only to scare Zhang – and putting the towel around her neck “was a very natural thing to do.”
He said: “I was very, very angry, I was perspiring and shaking.
“It was like fire reached my head. I took a towel to wipe my face and to wipe off the perspiration.
“I didn’t think too much. It was a moment of impulse. I had no intention to kill her.
“I only wanted to scare her. I did not expect things to turn out this way.”
Malaysian Boh then took photos of Zhang’s body and tried to have sex with her but could not stay aroused, the hearing was told.
He put her knickers back on and went out to buy a suitcase to put her body in.
But rigor mortis had set in by the time he got back and he could not stuff her corpse inside, the trial heard.
Boh thought of cutting her up and dumping the parts in a river before spending the night sleeping next to her.

He told her “rest in peace” the next morning and kissed her goodbye before leaving her on his bed and fleeing to Malaysia.
He was arrested after his landlord found Zhang’s body the next day.
He could be sentenced to death if convicted of murder.
