THE British Tribe Next Door viewers were balling their eyes out at tonight’s series finale as the Moffatt family said an emotional goodbye to the Himba tribe.
Scarlett had one final heart to heart with pal Kandisiko and they reflected on the month they’d spent together and the lessons they’d learnt.
Kandisiko told her friend how she wouldn’t stop crying when she left, while the former Gogglebox star said she would tell her future children of her time with the tribe.
It was too much for some viewers, with one writing on Twitter: “The goodbyes on #thebritishtribenextdoor really set me off. Such incredible, beautiful connections between the Moffats and the entire village.
Another posted: “Sobbing at #thebritishtribenextdoor.”
A third shared: “This is so emotional #thebritishtribenextdoor.”
A fourth lost it completely, typing: “I’m legit balling my eyes out what is happening.”
As someone else shared: “Anyone else absolutely sobbing at #thebritishtribenextdoor.”
Scarlett’s mum Betty broke down in tears too, and told how she couldn’t believe how much impact the tribe had had on her life in such a short period of time.
On Instagram Scarlett paid tribute to the Himba tribe and called it a “life-changing opportunity”.
She wrote: “The finale of The British Tribe next door on channel 4 TONIGHT at 9pm. Full of tears of laughter and sadness tonight where we say goodbye to our friends .
“Kandisiko forever a sister & best friend. Love you from the bottom of my heart.

“Thank you to everybody who watched the British tribe next door, to all the amazing conversations and comments me and my family have received. To channel 4 & voltage for this life changing opportunity. But most importantly to all of our friends in Otjeme, Namibia.
“I wish I could find words big enough to thank you & let you know how loved you are by me, my family and the nation .”
The documentary series, that saw the British family’s three-bed semi was painstakingly recreated in the Namibian plains, had been branded exploitative when it first aired.
However, viewers were won round by the Moffatt family’s humour and the educational content as the two groups learnt how the other lives.
