I’VE always been able to see off a pint quickly but normally it’s something tastier.
On my tour of the I’m A Celeb camp, producers kindly put on a Bushtucker Trial just for me: Downing a pint of blended COCKROACHES in 30 seconds.
I nailed the horrendous brew in a respectable 11 seconds . . . but it nearly reappeared soon after on the winding drive out of the jungle.
The smell was unbelievable and I can still taste the cockroaches now, despite a lot of chewing gum and brushing my teeth several times.
Next time mine’s a Guinness, thanks.

Ko-star on set
CELEBRITIES have had to battle all sorts of creatures over the years, from snakes and spiders to ostriches. But this year the crew got a surprise while setting up camp.

A little koala made its way on set for the first time in the show’s 17-year history of filming in Australia. The miniature marsupial was found wandering on the outskirts of the former banana plantation in Dungay, New South Wales.
The show’s producer Olly Nash revealed: “We have a koala called Karl. He’s perfectly happy here and sleeps for 20 hours a day. They move so slowly but he might just appear one morning and hang around for 20 hours.
“Karl’s around here somewhere. He’s on the side of the valley somewhere hanging around a ridge. It’s the first one I’ve ever heard of in the camp. They’re not dangerous but they are a bit smelly.”
Sounds a bit like the campmates come the end of the first week.
Jungle bit
IAN WRIGHT has revealed he was spurred on to sign up by last year’s King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp.
The footie pundit said: “Harry and I play golf together and we spoke about it. It was a fantastic thing for him to do and he still talks about it to this day.”
Ian is the bookies’ favourite to emulate the ex-Spurs boss and take this year’s crown.
No fire
AUSTRALIA has been in a state of national emergency this past week due to devastating bushfires ravaging its eastern coast.

Even I’m A Celeb has felt the impact of the awful scenes.
According to producers, this could be the first series when campmates are forced to go without a fire – due to a ban in New South Wales, where the show is filmed.
Bosses are looking at alternatives for contestants to cook without a flame.

A source said: “There’s a few days to go before campmates go into the jungle. Producers hope the fires will have died down and the ban will be lifted.
“But they have contingency plans in place and they will be prepared for every eventuality.”
Still no microwave oven, though.
