PENNEYS in Rathfarnham shopping centre in Dublin will close down in the New Year.
The store, which has been operating for 48 years, will close for good in February 2020, it’s been confirmed.

Staff at the store were informed of the news last Friday.
It is understood that workers have been told they can relocate to Penneys in either Liffey Valley, Dundrum or Nutgrove if they wish.
A spokesperson for Penneys who confirmed the closure said the decision had been made due to the “close proximity” of other stores in Nutgrove and Dundrum.
They said: “In recent years, Penneys has invested in enhancing its customer offering and experience in six Dublin stores.”
‘MASSIVE BLOW’
Local Fianna Fail TD John Lahart said the news is a “massive blow for the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre and the surrounding area”.
He wrote on Facebook: “Very unfortunate news that Penneys in Rathfarnham Dublin is to close after 48 years.
