DANCING With The Stars celebrity Brian Dowling has pleaded with people to “just be tolerant”.

The reality star opened up about how hurtful social media comments can be.

Speaking on Ryan Tubridy on RTE One this morning he said: “When I did Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, I think it was the time of Twitter and when I left that show it was kind of Instagram so I’ve kind of done all those big reality shows at a time where there was none of the nasty side of it.

“And now I think it’s the point where it’s escalated so aggressively that it’s so shocking as to what happens and what people can say.

“I think sometimes if you’re name is attached in something it’s almost like you;re getting a text message if they @ your handle and I do read that.

“If I get 100 nice comments and I get five bad ones, the five bad ones always resonate with me and I don’t know why that is.

“I don’t know what it is. There’s just something about it that maybe you over-analyse it.

“I used to get comments about my weight all the time and sometimes my sexuality or the way that you look.

“You take them and sometimes they’re really hurtful. People need to realise. Just stop. Just don’t do it. Think, ‘why write a nasty message’.”

‘BE KIND TO EACH OTHER’

And the Big Brother star revealed that his mum passing away changed his perspective on how he treats people.

He said: “I always think we may not all like each other and we may not all get along with each other all the time but since losing mum, I’m very now aware of how I treat people and how I want my interaction with people to be as positive and as polite as it can be.

“No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. We just don’t.

“You can meet someone and not know what people are struggling with and just be kind to each other, just be tolerant, be a nice person.”

Brian said that people on reality shows can be easy targets for online bullies.

He said: “I think sometimes when you go on reality shows, people think it’s free reign. You’ve put yourself in a position to be judged.

“Look I was running around a house screaming, naked for ten weeks back in 2001.

“Listen I understand people can have an opinion but just be very weary of your words and just be very weary of you don’t know what that person’s going through.

“You just don’t know. Or how I might react to a situation.”

Israeli soldiers tricked by Hamas hackers who ‘used fake photos of women to lure them into download app to access info’

SOLDIERS in the Israeli army have had their smartphones hacked by the militant group Hamas posing as attractive young women, Israel’s military says.

The men were sent flirty texts and photos from fake Israeli women and then lured into downloading an app that allowed their phones to be infiltrated.

The Hamas militants posed as immigrants with broken Hebrew, and used slang, pictures and voice notes to ‘seduce’ the Israeli soldiers and appear convincing.

After striking up friendships, the ‘women’ sent links which asked the soldiers to download apps that infected their phones with malware – a type of software that can attack smartphones and computers.

The three apps were called “Catch&See” “ZatuApp” and “GrixyApp” and allowed the soldiers to exchange photos with the fake women for a limited time, in a similar way to Snapchat.

After attempting to download the app, a virus would be installed which would give the hacker access to all of the phone’s data and allow them to record conversations.

Over the last few months, the Hamas militants attempted to seduce soldiers on social media platforms including Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.

It was the third such attempt from Hamas to hack the soldier’s phones over the last three-and-a-half years.

Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus, an army spokesman, said the attack had been thwarted months ago and that there was “no substantial breach of information.”

He said: “[We] have been able to, using technology tools, locate and thwart an attempt by Hamas to introduce malware into Israeli soldiers’ phones and by doing so collect intelligence.”

However, he said the attack was “more advanced and sophisticated” than the last attempted attack in July 2018.

He added: “We see that they’re of course learning and upping their game.”

DECADES OF WAR

Hamas is a Palestinian Islamist group that has been waging war with Israel since 1987.

They have long called for the complete destruction of Israel and refuse to recognise the legitimacy of the Israeli state.

The group runs the Gaza Strip and has fought three wars with Israel since 2008, mostly through suicide bombings and rocket attacks.

Previously, a master hacker from Hamas hacked into the Israeli military’s drone system in 2012.

This enabled the terror group to target civilians and soldiers in real-time as it was firing rockets.

Maagad Ben Juwad Oydeh was convicted on several terror and cyber hacking charges by the Beersheba District Court in Israel in 2017.

TRIBUTES poured in from around the world after the death of Northern Ireland and Manchester United legend Harry Gregg.

The Munich Air Disaster hero slipped away peacefully aged 87 at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine.

During his astonishing career Gregg was once the most expensive goalkeeper on the planet.

And off the pitch his actions were priceless after he saved the lives of ‘Busby Babes’ Bobby Charlton, Denis Viollet and others, pulling them from burning plane wreckage in 1958.

Gregg’s courage on that day would never be forgotten, but in his later years he told how he wanted to be remembered for his football.

Speaking to The Sun at the time of his 2012 Windsor Park Man Utd testimonial he said: “I’m an old man and I’ve had my day… It’s wonderful to be remembered after all these years.”

NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN

His death was announced on Monday morning by the Harry Gregg Foundation, his charity which inspires young people to chase down their dreams.

A statement said: “It is with great sorrow that we inform of the death of Manchester United and Northern Ireland legend Harry Gregg, OBE.

“Harry passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family.

“The Gregg family would like to thank the medical staff at Causeway Hospital for their wonderful dedication to Harry over his last few weeks.

“To everyone who has called, visited or sent well wishes we thank you for the love and respect shown to Harry and the family.

“Details of his funeral arrangement will be issued in the next few days. We would ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this difficult time.

“Never to be forgotten!”

A statement from Man Utd said: “Harry’s contribution to the United story can never be underestimated.”

Gregg, who leaves behind five children, was awarded an OBE last year for services to football.

He joined United in 1957 for £23,500 – the highest price ever put on a keeper at the time.

TRAGEDY HERO

Three months later he showed astonishing courage after a disastrous take-off from a refuelling stop at Munich-Riem Airport in West Germany.

British European Airways flight 609, returning from a match against Red Star Belgrade with the Busby Babes on board, hit runway slush, crashed through a fence and rammed into a house.

Gregg leapt into action, helping to pull survivors from the wreckage as flames threatened to blow the fuselage and wounded passengers to kingdom come.

First he rescued Vera Lukic, the pregnant wife of a Yugoslav diplomat, and her young daughter, Vesna.

And he went back returned to save Charlton, Viollet, legendary manager Matt Busby and fellow NI international Jackie Blanchflower.

The tragedy left 23 dead – including eight United players – while 21 people survived.

Just 13 days later Harry was back on the pitch for United and in top form helping the squad to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

SHADOW OVER LIFE

In his autobiography, Harry’s Game, he said of the crash: “Munich established my identity, of that there is no doubt. (But) the notoriety has come at a price, for Munich has cast a shadow over my life which I found difficult to dispel.”

Speaking in 2017, England legend Bobby Charlton – the only remaining survivor of the disaster – said: “I was just lucky and sitting in the right place. We never got off the floor and ran into a house and into a few other obstacles. It was just a nightmare.”

Gregg made 247 appearances for United between 1957–1966 after joining from Doncaster.

NO MEDALS WITH UTD

Yet he never won a medal with them after injury ruled him out of 1963 FA Cup-winning side and limited his appearances in two title-winning seasons.

He ended his playing career with Stoke in 1967 before going on to manage Shrewsbury, Swansea, Crewe and Carlisle.

As an international he made 25 appearances for Northern Ireland and was voted the best goalkeeper in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.

In 2012, despite suffering a series of minor strokes, he told how he was hoping he would make it to his own testimonial.

He spent a week in hospital at the time of his 80th birthday and said the worst thing about the experience was not being able to see the Manchester derby on live TV.

A capacity crowd packed Windsor where Alex Ferguson’s United played an Irish League team side managed by then Linfield boss David Jeffrey and former Sunderland gaffer Martin O’Neill.

Harry Gregg told The Sun: “I want to be clear that I’m not there as some kind of film star, I’m there as the same Harry Gregg I was when I left this country many years ago.”

The testimonial came about as Harry’s family and friends set about planning something for his 80th birthday.

He added: “I’m an old man and I’ve had my day and I do feel really proud we are going to have a wonderful turn out.

“It’s wonderful to be remembered after all these years.”

TRIBUTES POUR IN

Paying tribute, Sir Alex Ferguson said: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Harry Gregg.

“Harry was a man of great character and a true legend at our club. I remember that he was always very excited and proud to host our youth team at his boarding house for the Milk Cup every summer, so he could recount the tales of his playing days.

“I loved his company and the many pieces of advice he gave me. My thoughts and prayers are with Carolyn and his family at this very sad time. God bless Harry.”

Ex-Manchester United star and Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy said Gregg’s courage in 1958 “summed up the man”.

He said: “He was a fantastic goalkeeper. Brave as a lion and brave as a lion off the field as well.”

Bobby Charlton said: “I was proud to call him a team-mate. For all the matter of fact things Harry said about that night in Munich, for me, he will always be remembered as a heroic figure.

“It’s incredible to think that he went on to play in a match against Sheffield Wednesday just 13 days after that tragic night.

“A shining light both on and off the pitch. For so many reasons, he deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest names in Manchester United’s history.”

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand posted: “Huge part of the clubs history, never to be forgotten! Thank You.” while Gary Neville simply said: “Harry Gregg RIP”.

RTE presenter Des Cahill called him a “remarkable and lovely man”.

Nicola, 38, said how Caroline posted and sent a series of worrying messages to her  “close friends”  group on Instagram before she phoned her.

Nicola said: “Caroline had made her Instagram to just her close friends and she posted something where I could tell she wasn’t in a great way.

“She’d been doing a lot better so I’d felt like she’d done really, really well.

“She’d gone to Los Angeles she’d done really well, seemingly a lot more positive.

The model said she called Caroline after becoming concerned for her welfare on Friday night

“And that post I knew…so I messaged her as anyone else would do and she was sad.

“She was really sad and she told me she was sad. She was just sad.”

Nicola became a close friend of Caroline’s after they were introduced by mutual pals.

The pair went on to work together on I’m A Celebrity in 2008, when Nicola took part in the show and Caroline was a guest on the ITV2 spin off, a year before she took over as the host.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

Caroline’s management has blasted the CPS for pursuing her to a looming trial for alleged assault while knowing she was suffering mental trauma.

While Nicola took aim at ITV over their suspension of Caroline, following her assault charge.

Speaking to The Sun’s Executive Editor Dan Wootton on his talkRadio Drive Time show, Nicola said:

“When she told me she was going to step down from love Island I said to her, ‘Categorically do not do that, you’ve told me you’ve done nothing wrong, I believe you, you will be cleared. Fight this’. And she had no choice.

Rex Features
Caroline took her life hours after being told the CPS were pursuing her assault charge[/caption]

“It was outrageous to force her hand. She should’ve been presenting that show.

“Suspend her for what? She was not found guilty. She will never ever be found guilty.

“I can’t believe the way she’s been hung out to dry.”

Caroline was found dead after taking her own life at her flat in Stoke Newington, North East London, on Saturday.

An ambulance had been called to her home at 10.30pm the previous night following a concern for welfare report but crews assessed she did not need hospital treatment.

Friend Lou Teasdale, 36, had stayed with her overnight before leaving to go to the shops at around 9.30am. Caroline’s body was found a short time later.

Pals say the 40-year-old had been tormented as she faced an assault trial after allegedly attacking boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27, at her then home in December last year.

The Love Island star had learned the Crown Prosecution Service was set to press ahead with her trial the day before her death.

Caroline strongly denied the charge and her management team has slammed the CPS for pursuing the case despite Lewis saying he didn’t support the prosecution.

She and Lewis had pleaded with authorities for it to be dropped given her vulnerable mental state.

A court heard last year that Caroline was accused of hitting Lewis, 27, around the head with a lamp before flipping over a table after officers arrived.

Magistrates were also told how police bodycam footage had captured Caroline in the moments after the incident.

A friend said: “Caroline was terrified the footage of her distressed and covered in blood would be shown to the world in court.”

Dr Charlotte Proudman, a human rights barrister who specialises in cases involving violence against women and girls, said the CPS had been wrongly trying to make an example of the star.

She said: “This smacks of a show trial.

“It feels like it was nothing more than an attempt by the CPS to show how rigorously it pursues domestic abuse cases, especially one involving a male complainant.

“I’m baffled as to why the CPS were so determined to continue with this case.

PA:Press Association
The 40-year-old star was found dead at her London flat on Saturday[/caption]

“There were clear mental health issues at the heart of this case and her vulnerability, both at the time of the incident and afterwards were well known.”

Caroline was due to stand trial at Highbury magistrates court on March 4 charged with common assault after the December 12 incident in Islington, North London.

At a previous hearing, the court heard that while under caution Caroline told police she would kill herself and that she said: “I did it.”

Magistrates heard how Lewis had dialled 999 and told the operator: “She’s trying to kill me, mate.”

Lewis later stood by Caroline, despite being banned from contacting her.

Former Hollyoaks star Andy Newton-Lee called for Love Island to be axed after experiencing the dark side of fame himself

Former Hollyoaks star Andy Newton-Lee also came on Dan’s show to lobby for an end to reality TV shows like Love Island after seeing the dark side of fame.

He called out ITV chief exec Carolyn McCall for continuing with the programme following the deaths of former contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis.

He said: “She went on to say shortly after they were giving us two more series.

“And then we find out that Love Island is the most commercially viable programme for ITV so they’re going to try and keep it… at what cost, Dan?”

He added: “We need to invoke a national debate about this show. This, guys, is our next Brexit. We need to figure this thing out and we need to do it soon.

“Let’s figure out what damage these reality shows [are doing].”

Garda accused of colluding with heroin dealer he allegedly slept with was trying to ‘cultivate her as a tout’

A DRUG unit Garda accused of colluding with and tipping off a heroin dealer he was allegedly sleeping with says he was trying to “cultivate her as a tout”, a tribunal has heard.

The Disclosures Tribunal is in its tenth week of hearing evidence into the treatment of whistleblower Garda Nicholas Keogh, who made a protected disclosure in 2014.

Garda Nicholas Keogh arrives at the Disclosures Tribunal today
RollingNews.ie

Gda Keogh alleged that a senior member of the Athlone drugs unit, identified to the tribunal as Garda A, was in an improper relationship with a heroin dealer, identified as Ms B.

The tribunal, chaired by Judge Sean Ryan, is investigating if Gda Keogh was targeted, harassed, undermined, or bullied after he made his protected disclosure on 8 May, 2014.

In May 2017, Assistant Garda Commissioner Anne Marie McMahon was assigned to carry out a disciplinary investigation, arising from Gda Keogh’s claims, relating to four gardai, including Garda A.

Asst Comm McMahon said Garda A had denied, in his December 2018 interview, allegations that he was in an improper relationship with Miss B and denied that he tipped her off when drug- searches had been arranged in an attempt to frustrate criminal investigations.

‘TRYING TO CULTIVATE HER AS A TOUT, NOTHING ELSE’

Gda Keogh has said in his statement that he spoke with Garda A in the Castle Inn in Athlone on 10 May, 2014, and that Garda A admitted the sexual relationship and of tipping off Miss B and an associate about searches.

An analysis of 15,213 call-records of Garda A’s State phone showed 1,672 contacts with Miss B from 27 May, 2010, to 5 August, 2010 – of those 1,379 were by text and 293 were phonecalls.

When interviewed, Garda A said: “I was trying to cultivate her as a tout, nothing else. I made the phone calls, that’s what I was doing. I completely deny that I ever told them to get rid of phones, or anything like that.”

Asst Comm McMahon said that the amount of contact was “inordinate, excessive and that there was a call for it to be explained”.

DELAYS IN PROBE DUE TO AMOUNT OF LINES OF INQUIRY

The tribunal heard that in November 2017, Miss B had made statement to the disciplinary investigation confirming Gda Keogh’s claim of collusion but that she later withdrew it.

Asst Comm McMahon said she did not accept Garda A’s explanation of the calls, which, the tribunal heard, were made to a phone owned by the 11-year-old daughter of Miss B, and she recommended a board of enquiry into the matter.

Gda Keogh also alleges that the length of time taken for the investigation into Garda A, which was concluded in February 2019, constituted undermining or targeting of him because he was a whistleblower.

Judge Ryan heard that delays in the investigation were due to the amount of lines of inquiry, needing legal advice on including statements and the fact that Asst Comm McMahon and her team were investigating on a part-time basis.

“Under no circumstances do I accept that I was using a delay to target Gda Keogh. I recommended a board of enquiry into the matter because there was substance in it and the board would have added authorities to investigate. It is the exact opposite: it was professional and thorough,” said Asst Comm McMahon.

The tribunal heard that Asst Comm McMahon recommended a peer-review of her own investigation for “openness”, as her husband had made a complaint of threatening calls to her station against Gda Keogh.

The Serie A side will attempt to land Smalling, 30, on a permanent deal at the end of the season but will face fierce competition.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, the Toffees and Jose Mourinho’s side are weighing up moves while Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus could also be in the mix.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not eye Smalling as part of his first-team plans and is willing to cash in with the right offer.

Chief executive Ed Woodward is demanding £16.5million for the defender whose contract expires in the summer of 2022.

Mourinho is in the market for a new central defender as he prepares for life without Jan Vertonghen.

Ex-Amazon exec admits strangers DO listen to you and turns his Alexa off

AN AMAZON exec says he turns his Alexa speaker off when he wants to have a “private moment”.

It comes months after Amazon admitted that humans sometimes listen – and transcribe – snippets of audio recorded through Alexa speakers.

Former Amazon executive Robert Frederick said he turns his Alexa off for private conversations
BBC

Last year, it emerged that Amazon was sometimes sending your voice clips off to “graders”.

These workers will listen to clips to make sure Alexa is working as intended – improving the system all round.

However, Alexa will sometimes record you without your knowledge, because she thought you said her name.

“I turn off my Alexa whenever I want to have a private moment,” said ex-Amazon executive Robert Frederick, in tonight’s BBC Panorama special ‘Amazon: What They Know About Us’.

Alexa speakers are coming under increasing scrutiny from cyber-experts and privacy campaigners

He went on: “I don’t want certain conversations to be heard by humans.

“Conversations that I know for a fact are not things that should be shared then I turn off those particular listening devices.”

Alexa often picks up false “wake words” and begins recorded.

She will save this audio, and you may have no idea it’s happening.

These soundbites are then occasionally sent off to human graders, who listen in and transcribe the audio.

The Sun recently revealed how Amazon-funded “graders” have heard family rows, conversations about money and audio from steamy romps.

Amazon says it only sends a fraction of its audio recordings to humans for grading.

But it’s enough to put Amazon’s own alumni off.

“I simply hate the idea of voluntarily putting a bug into my living room, and knowing that that some schmo in Seattle might be listening to it on a headset,” said James Marcus, who worked as a senior editor at Amazon between 1996 to 2001, in the BBC Panorama episode.

What is Alexa?

If you've never heard of Alexa, here's what you need to know...

  • Alexa is an “intelligent” personal assistant built by Amazon.
  • You can find her on several different devices, including Amazon’s Echo speakers.
  • Alexa responds to voice commands, and can talk back to you.
  • She can perform thousands of different tasks, including telling you about the news or weather.
  • But she can do more complex things too, like ordering a pizza or arranging an Uber taxi pick-up.
  • To activate Alexa, you need to say “Alexa” to an Amazon Echo speaker.
  • Alexa currently only works in English and German languages.
  • Because she’s powered by artificial intelligence, Alexa is constantly getting smarter.
  • Alexa will also get more used to your voice, and better understand what you want her to do over time.
Ex-Amazon senior editor James Marcus doesn’t want humans listening to his private conversations at home using Alexa recordings
BBC

And cyber-experts are growing increasingly worried about the data that Amazon collects on us through Alexa and other gadgets.

“The Amazon Echo, Kindle and the entire Amazon home automation suite sits at the intersection of our personal and digital lives,” Sam Curry, a cyber-expert at Cybereason, told The Sun.

“The implications at home and at work and how to accommodate these devices safely and securely are still being discovered.

“WiFi sniffing, interception and hijacking are nothing new, but this latest development may have more implications than simply snooping on your Kindle reading habits.

“Keep in mind that businesses have commercial relationships in place with AWS and your Amazon identity is often linked to your home, your bank accounts and credit cards.

“It’s a good idea for Amazon to think carefully about all of its common components and this usage sooner rather than later.”

In a statement given to The Sun, Amazon said “It is surprising that someone who left Amazon 14 years ago is being quoted, about a technology that was developed a decade after he left. His quotes do not accurately portray how Alexa works.

“We take privacy very seriously at Amazon and designing Alexa was no different. Echo devices are designed to detect only your chosen wake word. No audio is stored or sent to the cloud unless the device detects the wake word. Customers can review and delete voice recordings at any time in the Alexa App, as well as, choose to have them automatically deleted every 3 or 18 months on an ongoing basis.

“To help improve Alexa, we manually review and annotate a small fraction of one percent of Alexa requests. Access to data annotation tools is only granted to a limited number of employees who require them to improve the service, and our annotation process does not associate voice recordings with any customer identifiable information. Customers can opt-out of having their voice recordings included in the fraction of one percent of voice recordings that get reviewed.”

In other news, we reveal the best Alexa tips and tricks.

A terrified mum says her Amazon Echo speaker urged her to kill herself.

And Amazon recently launched an Alexa ring and a smart oven.

Ziyech’s move to Chelsea could spark Ajax mass exodus with up to EIGHT transfers away in summer – including van de Beek

AJAX are facing a mass summer exodus after Hakim Ziyech’s move to Chelsea, according to reports.

The Dutch champs could see up to EIGHT big stars – including Donny van de Beek and ex-Manchester United man Daley Blind – depart.

Ex-Man Utd man Daley Blind could also follow Ziyech out the door[/caption]

Only a year ago, the Eredivisie big guns were just seconds away from reaching the Champions League final having pulled off a monumental giant killing of Real Madrid in the earlier rounds.

But Lucas Moura struck at the death in the semi-final second-leg to send Tottenham through in their place.

As well as their European success, Ajax also claimed last season’s domestic title and big wigs were forced to sell Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt last summer as a result.

But after some gentle persuasion they managed to hold onto the rest of their conquering stars.

Manager Erik ten Hag, director of football Marc Overmars and chief exec Edwin van der Sar convinced the squad to stay to have a crack at the big time again.

But having crashed out of the Champions League group stage in December – under controversial circumstances – some players’ desire for bigger things will see them flock for the exit in the summer, according to the Athletic.

Blind and Van De Beek both have contracts that expire in 2022 but Ajax are expected to cash in on the stars before to stop them leaving for nothing.

Van de Beek has been linked with both Man Utd and Real Madrid in the past.

The other six expected to leave the Amsterdam giants are keeper Andre Onana, left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, midfielder David Neres, centre-back Joel Veltman and right-backs Noussair Mazraoui and Sergino Dest.

After Ziyech’s signing was confirmed, Frank Lampard insisted the Moroccan international will be the key to unlocking opposition defences for Chelsea.

DOCTOR Who has fans currently hooked with an explosive series of Cyber wars and a host of unanswered questions.

Time Lord actress Jodie Whittaker confirms her return for a brand new series 13 -but what can fans expect and will we lose any of the beloved, loyal TARDIS team?

When is Doctor Who series 13 on TV?

There have been no official confirmations on the release of Doctor Who series 13.

However, sources have reported there is expected to be a new series planned for 2021 with the show producer, Tracie Simpson reportedly suggesting filming will start again for the new series in the Autumn.

Although filming itself might not be expected to start for a few months Doctor Who will be in continuous production from now until then with post-production wrapping up on the final episodes of season 12  followed by pre-production on series 13.

Who will be in the cast of Doctor Who season 13?

It is currently unclear who will be returning for series 13 with fans left wondering about the future plans of regular cast members.

Bradley Walsh (Graham) has been recently cast as the lead in two eight-episode seasons of US courtroom drama 61st Street and Tosin Cole’s Ryan appeared to leave his possible return hanging in the air after saying in one of the latest episodes of the current series 12, “How long is this gonna last Yaz? Hanging out with the Doctor?”

Yaz played by Mandip Gill also cast doubt over her future with the show after fans wondered about what lengths she would go to protect the Doctor against The Cyberman in series 12 and if she would escape the series unscathed.

However, viewers can breathe a sigh of relief as we do know Jodie Whittaker will be coming back for another series after accidentally confirming her return in an interview to Entertainment Weekly in January.

She said: “I’m doing another season. That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie!”

Series head writer and showrunner, Chris Chibnall also confirmed the wheels are in motion for the series to continue with, “Lots of new faces, a few old faces. There are some things trickling through which might be important …”

What will happen in Doctor Who Series 13?

Fans won’t need to wait until the official announcement of series 13 to get their sci-fi kicks. A special episode is planned for after the end of series 12. Show producer Chibell explained: “You will get a special-at the end of the series, yes.”

This show special is most likely to air sometime in December 2020.

Doctor Who’s current series has been full of surprise twists and turns. Viewers have seen The Doctor and the entire TARDIS team battle against nightmare-powered monsters and visualise their worst nightmares with a full-blown Cyber war leaving the team’s future in the balance.

There have been a host of guest appearances in series 12 and newcomer Jo Martin (Holby City) has come on board to play the role of tour guide Ruth Clayton. She turns out to be another incarnation of the Doctor and could perhaps become a firm fixture as the series moves into the next phase.

Nicolas Pepe will be an Arsenal star and it ‘took Thierry Henry time to adapt,’ says Graeme Souness

NICOLAS PEPE has been tipped to become a belated, feted Arsenal legend like Thierry Henry.

Ex-Liverpool hero Graeme Souness believes Pepe’s goal, two assists and star-man showing in Sunday’s 4-0 rout of Newcastle suggest the £72million winger is finally adjusting to the Premier League.

Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta was equally impressed, saying: ‘We just need consistency from him. The way he applied himself defensively he was top drawer, things he wasn’t doing in the past.”

And Sky Sports pundit Souness took that praise a step further, claiming “electric” Pepe could now come into his own – as Henry did after a quiet start in 1999.

Souey said: “I like him, I think there is a real, real player in there.

“If you think of their best ever player, Thierry Henry, coming here, didn’t have a great first year, took a bit of time and I see Pepe being a star here.

“He’s got great feet, electric and he’s a baby.”

Pepe was rated one of the Prem’s key arrivals in the summer after two years with Lille.

But instead he was in an out under Arteta’s predecessor Unai Amery.

Sunday was his biggest chance yet to wow Arteta – and the Ivorian delivered like never before this campaign.

The 24-year-old’s superb cross teed up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opener on 54 minutes, neatly slotted the Gunners’ second goal and supplied sub Alexandre Lacazette’s stoppage-time goal.

LADBROKES 1-2-FREE Simply predict Leicester vs Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal scores this coming weekend and win £100

Pepe will surely be inspired by comparisons to Henry – but a little daunted too if he looks at what the French World Cup winner achieved.

Henry’s eight-year spell brought 228 goals and 90 assists in 375 games for Arsenal.

Pepe has so far netted five times and created four goals from 27 appearances.

AN alleged killer and his teenage girlfriend today denied murdering a champion Irish dancer and poisoning another man.

Joel Osei, 25, and Diana Cristea, 18, were charged with murder after Kilkenny native Adrian Murphy, 43, was found dead in his apartment in Battersea, southwest London on June 4 last year.

A second 40-year-old man was rushed to hospital and narrowly survived after Osei and Cristea allegedly administered Scopolamine to him at his flat in Walthamstow, east London on May 30.

Prosecutors claim they stole a PlayStation, an iPhone, three pairs of sunglasses and a school bag from the man whose identity is protected by court orders.

Osei allegedly used Mr Murphy’s Lloyd’s bank card to buy £54 worth of food from Deliveroo and spent £9.99 on Gumtree.

NOT GUILTY PLEAS

The pair entered not guilty pleas over video link from HMP Belmarsh at the Old Bailey but could not be seen due to an error with the television screens.

Joel Smith, prosecuting, said: “The defendant previously appeared in court on theft, fraud and poison allegations.

“He has been charged and summoned on postal requisition on an allegation of murder that arises from the same facts as it was one of the victims from the poison allegation that subsequently died.”

BOTH DENY MURDER CHARGE

Earlier Mr Smith had said Cristea was in possession of the items after the event and consideration is being given to whether charges can be made against her.

Osei and Cristea, both of no fixed address, both deny murder, poisoning by administering a substance to endanger life, two counts of theft and two of fraud by false representation.

Osei alone further denies four charges of fraud by false representation.

Mr Murphy, a seven-time All Ireland Irish dancing champion, produced and choreographed numerous Irish dance shows, including Feet of Fire, and FireDance The Show.

He was laid to rest in his native Kilkenny city besides his parents on July 17.

The pair will stand trial at the Old Bailey on May 18.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin on headlining TakeOver Dublin against WALTER and the growth of Irish wrestling

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin has shared his excitement at returning home for the inaugural TakeOver Dublin.

The Irish Ace, who scooped his first WWE title at World’s Collide last month, has already set his sights on a main-event clash with NXT UK king, WALTER.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin, pictured here with Triple H, wants to headline TakeOver Dublin against WALTER
WWE

Vince McMahon’s company stunned the world this weekend by confirming that the first NXT UK TakeOver to be held outside Great Britain would be at the 3Arena in Dublin on April 26.

Shortly after the announcement, Cruiserweight champ Devlin tweeted: “The Irish Ace is coming home. Irish crowds always create an insane atmosphere, absolutely buzzing!”

He then added later: “Give me WALTER, you cowards.”

Devlin has faced Austrian powerhouse WALTER on two occasions in the past, but both have come outside of WWE, with the scores standing at one-a-piece.

And in a sitdown with SunSport ahead of NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool II in January, the 29-year-old claimed a final showdown with the Ring General deserved to be the main event in Dublin.

Devlin said:  “I can’t imagine a man alive who deserves (to headline) more.

“I kind of run it around in my head these scenarios, I can’t decide whether I’d wrestle for the title in Dublin, or come home as conquering hero with the title.”

On his opponent: “I’ve had a couple of good ones with WALTER in Dublin so he can have a rematch for his title, maybe, against me there at TakeOver Dublin.”

I can’t imagine a man alive who deserves it more. I can’t decide whether I’d wrestle for the title in Dublin, or come home as conquering hero with the title

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin

A potential NXT TakeOver in Dublin has been mooted for a while following the explosion of Irish wrestlers in WWE.

In addition to the recent success of Devlin, the likes of Sheamus, Finn Balor, and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch are among the company’s top talent.

And Bray-born Devlin admitted he was grateful that NXT UK allows him to continue working for other companies to help continue the growth of Irish wrestling.

He added: “As far as I know, it’s unique in pro wrestling, the kind of contract that we have at the moment where we’re still able to give back to the independent scene.

AN eight-month-old baby girl has tragically died after her neighbours sprayed their flat with a deadly pesticide in an attempt to get rid of bedbugs and roaches.

Two other children, aged three and five, are also in critical condition following the extermination last week in the city of Shymkent, southern Kazakhstan.

Neighbours reportedly left their apartment to avoid being poisoned after it was heavily sprayed with poisonous Imidacloprid on February 11.

The following day, the family living upstairs, who knew nothing about the extermination, reported feeling unwell.

The baby girl’s father, Dilshat Abdurasulov, said: “We did not know what was going on.

“My daughter Guzal was constantly crying and we thought she was teething.

“Then she weakened. Her body got colder, her face and lips turned blue.

“We rushed to hospital but 30 minutes later she died.”

The baby’s mother Alinur Lobusko said: “When the neighbours called an exterminator for the first time, he came to us and warned us to open windows and ventilate our apartment.

“This time nobody came and said nothing.”

My daughter Guzal was constantly crying … then she weakened. Her body got colder, her face and lips turned blue.

Three children have since been hospitalised to the Orynbaev Hyperbaric Oxygenation Centre.

The children, aged five, three and eight months, were taken to intensive care in a life-threatening condition.

The older children were suffering from severe vomiting and the baby girl was in a state of clinical death, according to reports.

Head doctor of the hospital Madina Ermakhanbetova said: “The children were admitted to the intensive care unit with intoxication caused by severely toxic substances.”

Two other children – Dilshat’s nephews – are still in critical condition.

Experts examined the air in both apartments and identified the pesticide that was used for the insects extermination.

Local authorities spokesman Almat Kosaliev said: “The apartment was sprayed with Imidacloprid by an exterminator from a private company.

“The gas found its way to the upstairs flat through the vent shaft.”

Police have launched an investigation into the incident but nobody has been arrested so far.

The investigation continues.

And in Australia, a six and eight-year-old boy died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

A gas heater in a room of the family home had leaked deadly colourless and odourless gas.

“There were clear mental health issues at the heart of this case and her vulnerability, both at the time of the incident and afterwards were well known.”

Caroline was due to stand trial at Highbury magistrates court on March 4 charged with common assault after the December 12 incident in Islington, North London.

At a previous hearing, the court heard that while under caution Caroline told police she would kill herself and that she said: “I did it.”

Magistrates heard how Lewis had dialled 999 and told the operator: “She’s trying to kill me, mate.”

Lewis later stood by Caroline, despite being banned from contacting her.

He posted after the December 23 hearing: “What I witnessed today was horrible. She did not hit me with a lamp. Gutted I am not allowed to protect her right now.”

Caroline had made no secret of her mental health struggles since her first court appearance in December.

She had also spoken publicly and bravely about her long-standing issues.

In an Instagram post on October 14, she wrote: “I wanted to write something about mental health day last week but I was knee deep in work.

“And some days it’s hard to write your feelings or your not in the right place.

‘The last few weeks I’ve been in a really weird place . . . I find it hard to talk about it . . . I guess it’s anxiety and pressure of life . . . and when I actually reached out to someone they said I was draining.

“I feel like this is why some people keep their emotions to themselves.

“I certainly hate talking about my feelings. And being a burden is my biggest fear.”
