GREAT British Bake off contestant Henry Bird has denied he’s in a relationship with fellow baker Michael Chakraverty after fans went wild over a picture of them hugging.
The cast have been especially close this year, leading fans to speculate who is in a relationship with whom.
At first they linked the 20-year-old to Alice Fevronia after they shared cosy photos together on Instagram.
However, the young star has denied claims he’s in a relationship with any of his fellow contestants.
Speaking to The Times – who he worked for as an intern after taking part on the show – he said: “Bake Off has always thrives on people helping each other, but this year I think it truly became clear how clsoe we all got when several tabloid reports claimed that Alice and I were in a relationship based on the photos together.
“This was news to me and to Alice’s boyfriend.
“These reports were swiftly followed by stories claiming that Michael and I were an item, based on a photo of us hugging.
“If a lingering hug is the qualifier for a relationship, then I dread to think what everyone thought of my farewell to Sandi [Toksvig]!”
They have all formed a firm friendship. He travelled to France with Alice on a trip and then to Wales with Michael to visit fellow contestant Michelle Evans-Fecci.
Winner of this season of Bake Off – David Atherton – broke his silence on social media yesterday.

The show faced controversy when he won, as he was the only person who hadn’t won Star Baker throughout the competition.
However, a jubilant David ignored the criticism on his Instagram.
He said: “Wow, wow, wow, can someone explain to me what just happened? It’s almost exactly 12 months since I applied for Bake Off and this was never in the plan.
“I didn’t think I’d get through the auditions and now I’m writing this as the winner of series 10. Can people just go for it please, apply for things, push boundaries, but through it all be kind and be yourself.
“The real prize from this experience was making so many new friends. I know it sounds cheesy, but actually you need support, love and friendship otherwise all this is empty #reachfortheunreachable.”
